100 days outside.
This project took me through winter — a time of year I don’t usually spend much time outside. Not only did having a reason to get outside during the bleakest time of year bring some form of sanity, but it gave me time I had never taken before to become familiar with my local area.
Experiencing the seasons outside this year has grounded me in the fact that time has been passing, an antidote to the endless repeat loop of lockdown life. Pausing everyday at my favourite points, I notice how things have been changing and shifting, gradually but purposefully.
Somehow, being outside always seems to give me what I need. If I need my mind to stop, it gives me stillness. If I need motivation or inspiration, it gets me moving and thinking again.
