Berlin I

Berlin is one of my favourite cities. It feels passionate, political, bold. Brave, tender, and alive. It’s fun and quirky – there is a communal sense of consciousness. Nobody is asleep. Nobody is on autopilot. Passing through its streets, nothing feels incidental. The clean, clear lines of modern architecture complement and frame buildings with complex history. But there is life, everywhere. Growth and greenery, softening concrete edges. You expect the surprising, and it feels young and grown up all at the same time. It’s a city with attention to detail – for those with eyes to notice. Getting around to sorting through these photos I took a few years ago (May 2018) has left me eager to return.
